Stan and Marilyn Fedewa offer a wide array of writing and communications skills, having worked separately and together with diverse groups of people and organizations, including the media. They have managed and held direct accountability for public relations, marketing, speech and article writing, community and constituency relations. Stan Fedewa combines an insider’s knowledge of government regulatory, executive office, and legislative operations with skilled communication experience in the private sector. As Director of Federal and State Relations in the Michigan Department of Commerce, he played a vital role in passing the Governor’s 20-point economic development program. As chief advisor and director of the Governor’s legislative efforts, he coordinated major policy and budget initiatives for most state departments. As Executive Director of the Michigan Financial Institutions Bureau, he specialized in economic development, public opinion, news media contact, and federal and state relations. He has also served as Vice President of a Los Angeles-based marketing and public relations firm, and Chief of Staff for two Speakers of the Michigan House of Representatives. Marilyn Fedewa integrates private consulting for nonprofit organizations, businesses, and private individuals, with communication expertise in public and private higher education. As Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Olivet College, Michigan, she managed public relations, constituency relations and fundraising for the 900+ residential liberal arts college. She held ascending director positions within Michigan State University (MSU) Development—a Big Ten University with 42,000 students and 5,000 faculty and staff—with responsibilities for fundraising, marketing and constituency relations. She has also operated off-campus degree programs at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, administered Headstart and daycare programs in upstate New York, and taught secondary and preschool.
